My New Year's Eve Look with Lancôme

2016 is right around the corner (and please tell me I'm not the only one who has no idea where the past year just went), and I think it's the perfect time to get ready and welcome the new year with open arms and a perfect makeup. So for this festive occasion which comes once in a year, I came up with the idea for a luxurious and glamorous makeup look which is based on a few amazing products by Lancôme. New year, here I come!

שנת 2016 עוד רגע מגיעה אלינו (ובבקשה תרגיעו אותי ותגידו לי שאיני היחידה שעדיין לא מבינה לאן נעלמה כל השנה האחרונה), ואני חושבת שזו בדיוק ההזדמנות להתארגן ולקבל את השנה החדשה בזרועות פתוחות ואיפור מתוקתק. לכבוד המאורע החגיגי הזה שמגיע פעם בשנה הכנתי לכן פוסט זוהר ויוקרתי עם מספר מוצרים מעולים מבית Lancôme אותם שילבתי ביצירת מראה איפור קלאסי וחגיגי. שנה חדשה, אני כבר מוכנה!

First thing's first, let's start with some skincare - a relatively new product which is worth talking about is Lancome's revolutionary Advanced Genifique YeuX Light Pearl* eye serum.

This eye serum comes with a unique pearl (or tear drop) shaped applicator which not only creates an easy and pleasant application, but also gently massages the eye area with a coll sensation. The secret formula of this serum claims to "Open the eyes", life the eye are and create a luminous fresh look whilst minimizing puffiness and dark circles.

The highlight of this eye serum is it's uniquely shaped flexible massage applicator, which upgrades the experience from pleasant - to revolutionary. The flexible metal pearl applicator glides on the under-eye delicate skin, calming and hydrating with a cooling sensation and instantly re-freshens and adds luminosity to the eyes. The serum itself is extremely light and absorbs almost instantly, leaving the skin soft and supple, yet some of you might find this product not hydrating enough as some other richer eye cream, but more of a priming or prepping step before another eye cream.

As expected from a high end brand, the price tag matches this luxurious looking product, with a RRP is 402ILS but I should mention that I've spotted it a while back on sale for about half the price, so definitely keep an eye for this one.

הסרום מצוייד באפליקטור פנינה (או טיפה) ייחודי וגמיש במיוחד המאפשר לעסות את מתאר העין בצורה קלילה ונעימה. הפורמולה הסודית של הסרום מבטיחה "לפתוח את העיניים" ולהעניק מראה זוהר ומואר לעור העדין שמסיבב לעיניים, תוך כדי הורדת נפיחות וצמצום מראה השקיות מתחת לעיניים.
האפליקטור החדשני הוא ללא ספק גולת הכותרת של המוצר, כאשר הוא משדרג את חוויית השימוש בסרום ממפנקת - למהפכנית. פנינת המתכת הגמישה מקררת ומלחחת את העור העדין שמסביב לעיניים ומעניקה מיידית תחושת רעננות וזוהר. מקרמו של הסרום קליל ביותר והוא נספג כמעט מיידית לאחר הנחתו, תוך כדי שהוא מותיר את העור העדין רך וזוהר, אך ייתכן שחלקכן תמצאו שהוא אינו מהווה תחליף לקרם עיניים מזין רגיל, אלא משמש כמעין הכנה ו"טיפול" ממריץ ומקרר.
כיאה למוצר טיפוח ממותג יוקרתי, הפינוק מגיע עם תג מחיר תואם - מחירו המלא של בקבוקון הסרום המרהיב הזה (20 מ"ל) עומד על 402 ש"ח, אך חשוב לציין שלפני כחודש נצפה במחיר מבצע של כ-200 ש"ח ברשתות הפארם, כך שבהחלט שווה לשים עין על המבצעים.

In the makeup department Lancome have recently launched several new and exciting products and are worth giving a try. For instance, last summer Lancome launched their revolutionary Miracle Cushion*, which is basically a fluid foundation in a compact case; A unique cushion releases the perfect amount of makeup for effortless application, creating a dewy, fresh glow on the go. Yes, we could say that this is not in fact a revolutionary product at all, since the idea for this product was based on other big Korean brands, but that doesn't mean that this is not a great product that stands for itself. While I've heard of this huge trend before, this was actually the first time I've got to try this kind of product myself, and I can tell you - it's worth the rave.

The Miracle Cushion allows to get a decent coverage (including SPF32) and for someone like me who likes her base light and natural, this is surely a great option. The lightweight and refreshing formula combined with the cooling effect cushion applicator and the convenient compact case, make it a perfect product to re-freshen throughout the day. If you are a fan of the effortless light coverage of BB or CC creams you are most likely to fall in love with this product, and even if you are seeking for a fuller coverage, the Miracle Cushion could serve you as a great base to prep the skin with a hydrating finish before you apply your foundation.

The only downside of this product in my opinion is the limited color range that is available in Israel (only four shades, while in the US they offer 11 shades to choose from), and while I first thought that the lightest shade could be a perfect match for me, it actually oxidizes with the skin and slightly changes it's color. Other than that, I feel that it could have been a perfect product.

המירקל קושן מספק כיסוי נאה בהחלט עבור מישהי כמוני שאוהבת את המראה הטבעי והקליל, ובנוסף מכיל מקדם הגנה SPF23. הפורמולה הלחותית הנעימה של המייקאפ בשילוב ספוגית ההנחה הייחודית שמעניקה תחושת קרירות נעימה ואריזת הקומפקט הנוחה, הופכים את המייקאפ הזה למושלם להתרעננות ותיקונים קטנים במהלך היום. אוהבות הכיסוי הקליל כדוגמת קרם ה-BB או ה-CC למראה טבעי ונטול מאמץ, צפויות להתאהב במוצר שכזה, אך גם אם אתן נמנות על הנשים שאוהבות כיסוי מלא יותר, תוכלו להנות מהמוצר הזה כבסיס או הכנה למייקאפ בעל כיסוי יותר גבוה.
החסרון היחידי של המוצר בעיני הוא מבחר מצומצם למדי של גוונים (ארבע בלבד), ובעוד שנראה תחילה שהגוון הבהיר ביותר עשוי להתאים לגוון עורי הבהיר, החומר עובר תהליך חמצון מסויים עם העור והגוון משתנה מעט לכהה יותר. אילולי החסרון הזה, המוצר היה יכול להיות מושלם עבורי.
את המירקל קושן ניתן להשיג במחיר מלא של 235 ש"ח ואת אריזת המילוי תמורת 190 ש"ח.

A new mascara that has joined the wonderful range of mascaras from the brand is the Hypnose Volume-a-porter Mascara*. With an overall elegant look and a flexible brush which has the perfect combo of large and tiny bristles, it covers the lashes with precision in an intensive smooth and long lasting formula, creates the most impressive fan looking lashes I've had.

After testing numerous mascaras from different brands over the past couple of years, I feel that I can come out with a big statement and say that Lancome's mascaras are the best by far, and this one is without a doubt is the best one I've tried (although last year I did really loved Lancome's Grandiose mascara, and I could have sworn by it too!).

Another quite recent launch from Lancome is their Ombre Hypnose Stylo*, a lovely creamy eye shadow stick that upgrades any eye makeup look in no time and with minimum effort. An easy swipe over the lid, a quick blend - and you're ready to go.
The line offers eight shimmery shades ranging from light gold, champagne, bronze and taupe along with a few bold color choices such as sapphire, navy blue and purple amethyst. This creamy eyeshadow stick has an extremely long-lasting formula, the kind that stays put throughout the entire day until you choose to remove it with a proper makeup remover. I feel that the Ombre Hypnoze Stylo range is a great product to have in your makeup bag since it's the perfect on-the-go product that will help you to create an impressive eye makeup look in no time.

After reading about all these great makeup bits from Lancome, I think it's time to show you how they all work together. With the products mentioned above I created a classy and festive makeup look that I feel would suit those of you who are looking to highlight their best features without loading lots of makeup, keeping the skin fresh and glowy.

To the dewy finish of Lancome's Miracle Cushion I decided to pair a creamy blush from Laline to keep the dewy skin theme going; a pinky plum shade for the cheeks felt just right. For the lips I picked Rimmel's Apocalips Lip Velvet in Meteoric Matte, a cool toned red berry shade. On the eyes I applied Lancome's Ombre Hypnose Stylo in the shade Brun Captivant, and finally gave my lashes a generous coat of Lancome's Hypnose Volume-a-porter mascara to finish this look.

Another recent release that just now landed at Lancome's counters and is absolutely worth mentioning is their holy grail Grandiose Mascara* which is now available in four new and exciting shades. Last year this out of the ordinary mascara was a big hit thanks to it's unique ergonomic Swan Neck wand bent to work with the shape of your face, combined with the perfect formula and excellent brush. Now we can enjoy the same wonderful mascara in four new hues that could upgrade any eye makeup with a splash of color and sophistication.

The shades in the range are Brun Mirifique - a warm brown with pigments that highlight the golden glare of the iris and accentuate eyes, Bleu Mirifique - a daring bright navy for a fierce look, Saphir Mirifique – an electric blue to enhance the white of the eye. While all of these shades are pretty nice, my pick leans towards the Violet Mirifique shade – a warming purple hue, which compliments best brown eyes and enhances them in a lovely way.
