In today's post I'm going to share with you my current manicure, which I decided to match to the blouse I wore this week for PUPA's makeup event (which I will be telling you all about very soon!). Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to photograph my nails with the blouse, but to give you a better idea of how it looked, I would describe it as a military green, and the collar of the blouse had gold round studs. So you probably understand why I chose to match these colors together for my manicure. ;)



When I got this blouse, I already knew that there was a perfect match for it by name and color - it was GA-DE Military Style, a smoked gray with teal undertone.
I discovered by chance that this polish was a perfect dupe for Zoya Evvie, so this was a nice surprise for me.

I applied two coats of this creamy base for a perfect coverage.

I decided to pair this color with a metallic gold - GA-DE Gold Glamour, a gold foil that has a slight silver tone to it. I sponged the gold over the tips to create a gradient look.
I also added some glitter over the tips to make it more sparkly and interesting. The glitter I used was Essence Make It Golden which has a warmer shade of gold glitter and shimmer to it.
I applied one coat of Poshe to seal the design.



This combination worked really well for me, and although I don't usually wear this color (well, I wore it for two years straight while serving in the military a few years back, but never on my nails!), I ended up loving this look and the color combo!
I love it when I manage to surprise myself with new colors that I thought I would never wear. I guess I just need to try new stuff more often!

Below you can see the bottle shots of both colors in shade, I think these colors look really great both in shade and in the sun. GA-DE Military Style appears to be lighter in this photo and it looks more gray, and GA-DE Gold Glamour looks like a very cold shade of gold.

I just love the setup of these photos, they seemed to match the theme so well! I spotted this green sprout that was growing on a stone wall, and I thought it would be a lovely place to take these photos. I love how they turned out! I just hope that these sunny days will stay with us a bit longer, so I can take more beautiful photos outside.

Have you tried lately colors that you never thought you would, and how did that worked out for you?

Today I have the first part of the Princess Collection by FUN Lacquer swatches and review, this is a lovely holographic collection that is inspired by Disney's princesses and includes 11 colors.

In the first part I will show you three of the colors from this collection, which I also think are beautiful colors which are suitable for fall. These colors have a medium holographic effect, not too strong but more subtle effect. These surprised my by having a great formula, I got a great coverage with just two coats, even with lighter colors. I have noticed that most of the colors dried with a matte effect, so I applied a one coat of Poshe top coat to give it a pretty and glossy finish.

I received the entire collection to review and share it with you, and I can tell you these colors are even prettier in real life. 

So let's get to the FUN part of this post, the swatches of these beautiful colors!

Belle is a gold holographic polish, it has a lovely warm tone to it which I really like in gold polishes.

The scattered holo effect is subtle but lovely non the less.

For these photos I applied two coats of FUN Lacquer Belle and one coat of Poshe.

Tiana is a light green holo with yellow undertones, a very light and fresh color. I found this color very interesting and unique, I certainty don't own anything like it in my stash.

I was surprised to see that such a light color can be completely opaque in just two coats.

This is also two coats and one coat of Poshe on top to add it some gloss.

Pocahontas is a dark brown holographic polish, I love how chocolaty and rich this color looks. This is again a very interesting color, and I think it's gorgeous for fall!

The formula was great as well, the dark color easily provided great coverage with easy two coats.

For the photos I used two coats and one coat of Poshe top.

I had so much fun creating this cute and delicious mani, and you will be surprised how easy it was!

As you already know, I'm a big fan of water decals, and I had the chance to review another set of decals from Born Pretty Store.

I chose this cute set of water decals because of the bright and fun illustrations, I really liked the colors and how crisp the images are. I didn't really know which decals I was going to use at first, but when I saw this lime green color on some of the illustrations, I thought it could be a nice base color for them.

The water decals I used for this mani can be found at this link (design #BOP068-071). These are really easy to use; just cut the image you would like to use and soak it in water for a few seconds. Then remove the white backing paper and slide the decal to your nails. Press lightly with a tissue paper to absorb the water and smooth the decal. Once dry, apply a top coat. It's THAT simple! :)

I think water decals are a great way to upgrade your mani in a few simple steps.

For this design I applied two coats of Bourjois Lime Catwalk as the base. I really love this color, even though I don't usually pick greens (and don't own many of them), but this color looked so vibrant, I was happy I chose to use it for this fun mani. I decided to chose various decals from the sheet and created this delicious mani, using illustrations of food, drinks and luscious lips!

I really love the final look, it's so fun and yummy! Does it make you hungry too? lol ;)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

I decided to try this awesome clover water marble design I saw on YouTube, made by the water marble expert Simple Little Pleasures.

This is the second design I did for  St. Patrick's Day. The first one was a total fail. I had a bit longer nails when I did it, and the green I picked didn't look as nice as I thought it would. Then the stamping I did was quite unattractive and I decided it was too aweful to post this fail mani on the blog, so I did a new one today.

Even though green is one of my least favorite colors, this design came out pretty nice! I think I like it :) My marbling skills are not super, and the design isn't perfect like the original, but still - it's cute. Iove the combination of these two colors and the clover on the middle finger came out pretty nice.

For the base I applied two coats of Beauty Care 14 which is a bright lime green, and for the marble I used the same color along with Skinfood Mocha Gold. Once dried, I applied one coat of Poshe.

St. Patrick's Inspired design

This design was inspired by the upcoming St. Patrick’s day.
On all of the fingers I applied 2 coats of OPI – Live and Let Die from the James Bond collection, a dark green with a gold shimmer. One coat was pretty opaque but I applied two just in case. But on the ring finger I used the amazing Zoya – Storm. I love this polish! Here I used 2 coats.
For the stamping I used Barry M – Gold Foil, with Nailz Craze Stamping Plate NC01. I actually filled in the hearts on the ring finger, I used a very short and thin brush to paint within the hearts, and added  a stem to make it look like a clover.
I really like how this came out! What do you think?

Green is not my go to color, and I rarely wear it, but this combination was just too fabulous to ignore, so I decided to create this green gemstones mani.

I started with two coats of GADE Green Garnet which is a dark shimmery green (actually reminds me a lot of Essie Dive Bar, but I don't own it so I can't really compare the two). Then I applied two coats of Nfu Oh 50 which has gorgeous green flakes in a light purple jelly base. I stamped the gemstones design from Nailz Craze NC04 plate with Essie No Place Like Chrome. Topped it all with one coat of Poshe.

The final result was so pretty and it's so fun to look at it in different lighting while the flakes shift their color. I even managed to snap a photo that shows how they change from green to blue.

Last Friday I was opening my Christmas swap package, and I was amazed to find this amazing polish among all the goodies. To tell you the truth, I never thought I will have Butter London polishes in my collection, but I guess you should never say never, right?

It actually has the best things in it! Purple, duochrome and holo glitters! This one looks so pretty and I love to see the colors shift, and the pretty little holo glitter sparkle int he light. The thing is, it was quite hard to catch this beauty on camera.

Butter London Knackered is a purple and green duochrome polish with fine holographic glitters.
It was actually very sheer and needed 3 thick coats to get it opaque, and still the nails show underneath. I think I will try it next time over a darker color, maybe Essie Sexy Divide or another dark purple or blue color. It's pretty on it's own but I don't like it when my polishes are so sheer that you can see the nails underneath. So I think layering it over a darker color is a good idea.

I realized I had two other colors I didn't wear yet, and they might be a good dupe for this one, so I'll make a comparison post sometimes soon including Butter London Knackered, OPI Not Like The Movies and Barry M Silvery Lilac. I'm sure that Knackered will be the best among them all, but it's still interesting to make this comparison between these three.

I was surprised to see that this polish looks best in the shade, and then you can see the purple color the most. In direct sunlight it look more gray but the holo glitters sparkle so pretty. It was pretty hard to get good photos with this one, but overall it's a gorgeous color and I can't wait to try it again and see how it will come out.
