Ga-De Blue SatinFebruary 24, 2014
So as promised, here's my second post with one of the new shades by Ga-De. This is Ga-De Blue Satin (493), a surprising duo-chrome! I was pretty excited seeing it among the new shades, although Ga-De released duo-chrome finishes in the past. The color is very nice, but as many of you know, duo-chromes (and multi-chromes, oh boy!) are pretty much a pain to capture on camera, so I did my best to give you a closer look at this color. So let's check the swatches.
Ga-De Blue Satin (493) is a teal duo-chrome that shifts from teal to blue. As expected from a duo-chrome polish, it has a semi metallic finish.
The formula was nice and smooth. At first I thought it's a bit sheer but I ended up using only two coats to get a perfect coverage. The color was really interesting and I didn't recall seeing it elswhere, which was pretty surprising,.. But then I stumbled upon a swatch of Nicole by OPI Emerald Empowered and I realized that this might also be a pretty close dupe. Oh well, don't see anything bad there since I don't own any of NOPIs polishes in my collection, and this color is really nice!
I took some pics in the sun, although I can't say they are really flattering for this finish, and it looks a bit odd. Excuse the blurry parts in the photos, it was a bit hard to capture a sharp image of this color because it was kinda radiant in the sun. You probably already noticed that duo-chromes look way better in shade.
Overall this was another great color and interesting effect that I was glad to see among the new shades. There are a few more shimmery and metallic colors that were added to the collection, but I didn't feel they were special enough to get. I did get three more cremes from the new shades, which I hope to show you soon, but this is it for today. ;)
Hope you enjoyed this post, thanks for reading!
