Ga-De Vintage Silver

February 24, 2014

Today I have for you two swatch posts with new Ga-De shades that were recently added to the brand's core line. I was pretty surprised that I didn't notice them at first, but when I realized that these are in fact new shades that  didn't see before, I grabbed a couple (well, maybe five or so) and of course was excited to try them. So in this post I will be showing the first shade I picked - Ga-De Vintage Silver (448).

Ga-De Vintage Silver (448) is a dark silver with a shimmery metallic finish. I think the name is perfect for this color and describes it well! I would say it has a silver colored base and silver micro flakes. It reminded me a lot of OPI's Haven’t The Foggiest from the San Francisco collection, and I think it can be a pretty close dupe (I wish I had a way to compare the two but I don't own OPI's version).
The formula was just superb, smooth and very opaque, so it can totally be of these great one-coaters.
Once I tried it, I instantly fell in love with this color, which actually surprised me. I used two coats for the photos, but I'm not sure is was really necessary.

When I thought I couldn't love it more, I decided to add a matte top coat - and then I was like WOW! It is stunning! I applied one coat of Revlon Matte Top Coat and it gave the polish a satin smooth look and texture, which was very beautiful.
I really love the soft effect it created, and the funny thing about these photos is that you can actually see how a metallic finish makes the nails appear much longer and "slimmer", compared to thesoft satin look, which I ended up loving even more.

I feel like Ga-De are stepping up a gear and creating more and more beautiful colors and finishes, and this is just awesome! I couldn't be happier!
This color was one of my best recent purchases and I'm super pleased with it!
In my next post you will get a closer lookat another new shade from Ga-De, so stay tuned.

  1. Wow, it looks amazing mattified! I've got Haven't The Froggiest, I think I'm gonna have to try that with a matte top coat :)
